A project head in the National Ministry was reported to have accepted tens of millions in bribes, yet when Hou Liangping, the head of the Investigation Department of Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Supreme People's Procuratorate comes to investigate these claims, he sees an honest looking man in simple clothing, looking like an old farmer, eating noodles with soybean paste in a shabby old apartment. When the mask of the corrupt official is finally unveiled, various political forces involved become entangled and things get complicated. To make matters worse, Chen Hai, the Anti-Corruption Director of the Procuratorate in H Province gets into a bizzare car accident. In order to finish his classmate's unfinished business, the sharp Hou Liang is entrusted with the completion of the critical mission and his investigation becomes the main narrative of the story.
