Liang Qichao: A Young Reformer is the transformation work of Xu Zhiyuan after preparation of many years. Liang Qichao was born in an era of reform, who was the active participant in the transformation of modern times and the pioneer and founder of Chinese modern academic thought. Xu Zhiyuan tries to present the thoughts and personality, hope and frustration, inner struggle and his argument with his contemporaries of this great figure to readers. While searching and reading a great many historical materials and research works, Xu Zhiyuan also follows Liang Qichao's footprints to his birthplace Xin Hui, place of study Guangzhou and Beijing, Shanghai and Yokohama of Japan to seek the hidden yet tenacious relations between history and reality, thereby showing the anxiety and longing, bravery and timidity of several generations.
