This book tells that Ove was a 59 years old man who was eccentric and fastidious. He strolled in the community with his unbreakable principles, biblical rules and flammable temper, thus was nicknamed ""an evil neighbor from the hell"". Every day, he made an inspection tour in the morning and moved the bicycles to the proper places; he checked whether the garbage was classified as required, complained about the unmowed lawns and cursed the stray cat which had lost its hair. He wanted to commit suicide. Until one day, a talkative couple and their two talkative daughters moved to the next door in the morning in November and they accidentally crashed his mailbox.
