The storyline of this book is the contradiction and fight between Indians and the native whites triggered by corn planting. Indians planted corns to make a living. According to their religious belief, corn was changed from human and human lived on corn. Different from the Indians, the whites planted corns to make huge profit. So a life-or-death struggle lead by the Chief Gaspar between Indians and the whites was on.
