Complied by Li Hongli and Zhao Lisha, the book collects hundreds of chromolithographs published in Le Petit Journal and Le Petit Parisien from 1891 to 1911. These materials are even unseen by authoritative Chinese institutions for collection which makes up the shortage in early Chinese image history and Chinese history of printing and publication. More importantly, when we retrospect the thought-provoking history, we may survey its significant influence on Chinese development through westerners perspective.
