Традиции и интерпретации: Фрагменты исторической эпистемологии

This book addresses the modern crisis of the theory of consciousness with special interest in the descriptive method. Consciousness is considered as a philosophical category describing the ideal plane of activity and communication. The author analyses historical priority, studies different stages of consciousness development, from its primitive forms to Greek archaic and Old Testament thought (“invention of the faith”). He represents the activity of such forerunners of the scientific revolution as physicians, the first printers and sailors, investigates the affirmation of experimental method on the way to an integral natural philosophy. Into the sphere of his theoretical interest enter not only science, philosophy and technology, but also artistic creativity and its functions in a totalitarian society. Bibliography.
