Notes of Dong Jing Meng Hua Lu was compiled into Collected Works on Information of Ancient Capital Cities of China. This book written by Deng Zhicheng was published by the Commercial Press in 1959, and by far it is the only noted version which provides a lot of reference that can be crosschecked with the original one, so this version was selected. Before publication only few notes were deleted. Dong Jing Meng Hua Lu was written by Meng Yuanlao in the Northern Song Dynasty. He moved to Kai Feng in the Bing Wu year of Jing Kang and lived there for 23 years. Up to the Ding Wei year of Chun Xi the book started to be published. Throughout the book, a detailed description was given to capital city Bian Liang (Namely Kai Feng) about its streets, rivers and customs and became essential information for the studies of history and geography of that city.
