The author Nakajima Atsu has read through Chinese ancient classics and draws materials from them, but what he writes are not historical novels in general sense. In Records of Mountain and Moon, he examines the dangerous border of existence from Li Huis transforming into a tiger and swaying between a man and a tiger. His obsession and persistence in poetry makes the poet become a heterogeneous being. Nakajima seems to have occasionally stepped into such queer situation in his inner mind. Opening this story collection, readers will feel as if they unfolded brocade of fantasy and language woven by Nakajima Atsu with his life.
