The first volume of a two-volume reference source that defines the distinctive Afro-Portuguese civilization which evolved over five centuries in the countries that eventually became known as Portuguese Africa: Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and Sao Tome and Principe.
