This is the seventh volume of the series Records of the Past. The current volume includes a memoir of Russian navy officer S. Unkovskii (1788-1882) about his service in the English navy, his trip around the world with the expedition led by his school friend M.P. Lazarev on the Russian ship Suvorov, his personal life on his estate. This trip was initiated by the Russian-American Company started in 1798. Unkovskii made an interesting analysis of Russian trade policy in the second half of the 19th century and a forecast for the future. An introduction about the Russian-American company and memoirs of Unkovskii by L.V. Cherepnin. The book was prepared by the publishing house of the Sabashnikov brothers in 1934, but was not published because the house was closed.
