This book is a systematic study of relevant records in the literatures of the Tang Dynasty, which is the first time in the academia. The book is divided into four chapters, and each chapter focuses on different topic and is respectively centered on the literatures of the Tang Dynasty (Great Tang Records on the Western Regions, New Book of Tang - Geography, New Book of Tang - Western Regions and Prime Tortoise of the Record Bureau. The main contribution of this book lies in that the author discovers that the locations of Ganquan, Baishui City, Gongyu City, Nuchijian and the capital of Mi Country in the records of the Tang Dynasty are not consistent with the records in the literatures of the Arab - Islamic world. The people of the Tang Dynasty confused Cao Country (West Cao) with East Cao (Sudui Shana); The people of the Tang Dynasty did not understand the process of Islamization in Central Asia; There are a lot of errors in the records of the Tang Dynasty about the cities in Central Asia; In the late eighth century, with the changes in the political situation in the eastern region of the Western Regions, the direction of the Silk Road (the Chinese section) changed. The way for the people in the Tang Dynasty from the east to the west was different from the people in Central Asian countries from the west to the east; The relations between the Central Asian Countries and the Tang Dynasty were different in term of affinity; The tributes of the Central Asian Countries to Tang were mainly political activities instead of the business activities in the name of 'tribute'. Such tributary activities reflect the evolution of the political relations between Central Asia and the Tang Dynasty; In the Central Asian region, the Tang Dynasty did have strategy of supporting Central Asian countries to resist Tazi, and the relationship between Tang and Dazi is not yet deemed as a kind of friendly relationship.
