Zhuangzi recorded the thoughts, words and deeds of Zhuangzi and his disciples; its a representative work of the Taoism. Since the Wei and Jin Dynasties, its influence has gone beyond the scope of the Taoism. Together with Confucianism, Buddhism, Zen and other academic schools, they became the must-read books for Chinese traditional scholars to cultivate themselves. The Seven Inner Chapters were especially praised and honored by descendants because of their rigorous ideological systems and unrestrained styles. There were also countless relevant notes and commentaries in all dynasties.
