This book is one of the major long-length works of the famous writer, Bi Feiyu, which won the Mao Dun Prize for Literature. Duan Fang returned to Wangjiazhuang after graduation from high school. The heavy and almost cruel farm work gave him a blow, but the restlessness exclusive in adolescence was not decreased by the tiredness of body, in the season of harvest, Duan Fang found his love, the third daughter of the landlord.
