It is the hardest three years of the War of Resistance Against Japan from the winter of 1939, the end of Battle of Wuhan to the autumn of 1941 the year before the break-out of the Pacific War. At the frontline battlefield, the 11th army in Japan, the only field mobile forces attacked fiercelyOkamura Yasuji moved to attack Nanchang with Robo Army and started the first Battle of Changsha and the 9th war zone of Xue Yue became the target. The 5th war zone of Li Zongren joined in many battles between China and Japan from Zaoyang to Xiangyang. The unexpected Yichang strategy of Japanese troops made Chongqing government much more dangerous. Battles could be found everywhere from the Battle of Kunlun Pass in South of Guangxi to Wuyuan county in north of Great Wall. The most wonderful battle was in Shanggao of Jiangxi Province.
