A murder case of an entire family turned the unassuming Guan Hongyu into a fugitive and a wanted suspect. His twin brother Guan Hongfeng, the leader of the criminal investigation team seeks to find out the truth. However, he was not allowed to be a part of the investigation because he was a close relative of the suspect, and he was so indignant that he resigned. Zhou Xun, the new leader of the criminal investigation team, found a way to let the resigned Guan Hongfeng continue to take part in the investigation as a 'supernumerary advisor', due to the pressure of having to solve the case and also trying to find the whereabouts of Guan Hongyu. However, the entire police force was fooled. As a result of 'nyctophobia', the 'advisor Guan Hongfeng' who appeared in the police team at night was actually his twin brother Guang Hongyu, the wanted suspect.
