This is the first selected works collection of the Russian thinker, Mikhail Gershenzon (1869-1925). He is primarily known as a contributor to the almanac Vekhi, but was also a literary historian and writer. Volume one includes three works about Pushkin, Griboedov's Moscow, and a biography of P.Ia. Chaadaev. Volume two lists three works: Istoriia Molodoi Rossii, Dekabrist Krivtsov i Ego Brat'ia, Zhizn' V.S. Pecherina. All three works are about the spiritual and intellectual atmosphere of the 1930s. The third volume includes Obrazy Proshlogo, Istoricheskie Zapiski, Slavianofil'stvo, Mechta i Mysl' I.S. Turgeneva. Volume four consists of philosophical works and his correspondence. Also included are an enlarged and updated bibliography of Gershenzon's works ( first published in 1928) and a bibliography of works about him (up to 1999). Name index.
