The Siege of Venice

The story of Venice’s great last stand in 1848 against its Austrian rulers. For over a year the Austrians blockaded the city. Food was scarce and cholera was rife. The people of Venice gave their all in support of the rebellion but without foreign help the sad, if glorious end, was inevitable.
