William Corliss is a researcher of "unexplained phenomena" in the tradition of Charles Fort. What makes his books different is that he catalogs the various phenomena he finds by category and each book deals with a separate category. His sources are professional and scientific journals which he combs constantly eventually finding an unexplained event or at least one not explained by the theories that exist at the present. Each occurrence in the book lists the sources.
