According to some Russian sociologists, Russians have slowly but steadily come back to Russia’s traditional moral and spiritual values, one of them the Orthodox faith. Valentina Chesnokova has analyzed and measured this process for many years. Her first work on the return by the Russian people to religion and to the Church was published ten years ago. This book contain unique sociological data based on a survey of 2,700 people in 1992, 2000, and 2002 in both rural and urban territories. The author portrays believers of various degrees of "votserkovlenie".
