The part ""it is a prosperous matter the brothers meeting in the north door"" in the first volume of the Miscellaneous Notes mentioned the family of the uncle BingLao (Wen JianGong) and Ni lao. The part ""Liao Minglue wrote a poem on the wall in the bank of the Ru River"" in the fifth volume mentioned another uncle called Kang Sun (Man Lao). In addition, the part ""On the stone ink-slab"" in the seventh volume mentioned the uncle YiLao. This book offers rich materials for the studies on the history of Chinese ancient literature. Poetry appreciation is included in this book to show the works of the contemporary (a complete article or extract). Many comments are also available and some are thoughtful. There are also some annotations as follows: the ""Wang Mu"" of ""Wang Mu singing by the picture"" in DuFus Song in Xuan Du means a kind of bird. The Four in Li Shangyins JinSe means four kinds of songs. The ""Shi"" in ""looking at the Shi by the road"" means ""person"". As above, there are always some original points either created by the author or to follow others. The comments include the following: The works of SuShi and Huang Tingjian should be classified into prose due to their skill at combined catalogues. The works of Sun Di (Zhong Yi) and Wang Zao (Yan Zhang) should be classified into verse for their styles. The works of Zhang Shunmin (Yun Sou) and Qin Quan (Shao You) are following the example of Gan Yu (Tui Zhi). These are all reference sources. As for the anecdotes in this book, such as the stories about Su Shi, most of the 20 anecdotes are not indicated in other book. The four aspects above take about half of the book. In addition, this book also contains the Guo Ting Lu and Ke Shu.
