Dzhambul Dzhabaev (1846-1945) was a Kazakh bard-improvisator (akyn) which became very popular with soviet people in 1930s-1950s. He was compared with Homer and Rustaveli, Pushkin and Shevchenko. His poetry was included in school programs; he was a recipient of several state awards, monuments to him were erected in several places. Dzhambul was 70 years old when the revolution came to his place. From that moment his songs were about Revolution, Lenin, Stalin, Kalinin, Ezhov and other statesmen.
