This is the most complete collection of Yakut calendar songs, charms, and spells. The goal of the series is a not a repository of all Siberian folklore, but rather the publication of the most outstanding achievements of oral poetry. The current volume includes the full text of 86 texts of Yakutian folklore with parallel translations into Russian, including 75 published for the first time. Many of the 86 spells, hymns, greetings, wishes, etc. are published unabridged for the first time. Scientific supplements include a review about Yakutian traditional rituals, an article about musical forms of this folklore and dances, indices, bibliography, dictionary, English summary. An accompanying compact disk contains some of the included works.
