The main theme of this yearbook is Kierkegaard's "A Literary Review" (1846). This text has often been ignored by much of Kierkegaard research since it purports merely to be a book review of Thomasine Gyllembourg's novel, "Two Ages", but yet in the context of discussing the novel, Kierkegaard comes to treat a number of issues of social criticism as well as social-political philosophy. Thus, this work offers a source for our understanding of Kierkegaard's little recognized views on these subjects. In this way "A Literary Review" is examined from various points of view and with the use of various methodologies.
