The documents included in this collection show the role played by the USSR in preparation to and carrying out the Peoples' Trial in Nuremberg. They document the close attention that the Kremlin paid to the progress and its rigorous control of the soviet prosecutors and judges. Also published here are the decisions of the VCP(b) Politburo and the protocols of the Soviet Special governmental Commission for the Nuremberg Process which functioned both in Moscow and in Nuremberg. The relations among the soviet prosecutors and those of the USA, Great Britain and France are disclosed. The proceedings of the closed sessions of the International Military Tribunal are also revealed, particularly those which examined the Katyn question, The Soviet-German treaties of 1939, and the working out of sentences and executions.
