He had been brought in by a worldwide leader in the insurance industry to provide loss control services for the public attractions provided by Coca-Cola. This tragedy is what prompted Bill Avery to write the book Emergency Disaster Guidelines & Procedures. Immediately subsequent to the September 11th terrorist attacks, Mr. Avery revisited the book and included additional chapters concerning terrorism and security issues. Just coming out in its second edition, Emergency Disaster Guidelines & Procedures intends to be a guidebook that focuses on the general protection of people and property. The purpose of the book is to provide and organized and managed system in an attempt to effectively meet emergencies and minimize the disruption of business operations. Bill Avery's career began in 1976 as the safety manager for Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. Several years later Bill took on corporate responsibilities for the Busch Entertainment Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri (the entertainment division of Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc.). Mr. Avery eventually returned to Florida to become the Vice President of Safety, Security, Rides & General Maintenance at Boardwalk & Baseball, Inc. an amusement rides park and spring training facility.
