Collection of little known and unpublished works by the outstanding Russian folklorist and ethnographer Petr Bogatyrev (1893-1971). While a student at Moscow University, Bogatyrev created the Moscow Linguistic Circle with his classmate Roman Iakobson. In 1929 they wrote the revolutionary article Folklore as a Special Form of Creativity published in German in 1929. The Soviet authorities many times interrupted his academic life and work, but every time he returned to his studies. He finished his career at Voronezh University as a professor of literature and language. The current collection includes three monographs and five articles about the folklore of the eastern Slaves (Transcarpathia, Eastern Slovakia, etc.). Appendices.
