This book introduces tales and legends collected by I.V. Karnaukhova (1901-1959) in the Pinega region of the Russian North in 1926. Many of these tales were collected (1934-1961) by the folklorist for the first time, and have not been published before. Unlike other folklorists, Karnaukhova was particularly interested in children's folklore. The first edition was published in 1934. This is an extended edition of Karnaukhova, I.V.
