The history of the Polish presence in Eastern Siberia, Buriatia and Far East and island of Sakhalin starts with the first exiles and soldiers of the 17th century through the deported participants of the 1863-64 uprising to the deported families before and during WWII. Many of them settled in Siberia and became its explorers and historians. This book comprises the proceedings of a scientific conference held in city of Irkutsk on November 20, 2008.
