Sir John Fisher's Naval Revolution

Lambert's argument is based on real expertise in the documents of the time. Few know the sources better than he. His is a masterful piece of historical dissection, beautifully structured and written with real elegance..... this is quite a splendid book and one that it is hard to recommend too highly.
