About the Author


Barbara Brehny spent her formative years in Los Angeles California, Sydney Australia, and Akron, Ohio, She began her career teaching high school in the fields of Spanish, Mathematics, and the Biological Sciences. After graduate work in linguistics, she took a different tack, and the balance of her thirty year career was spent at the elementary level in California as a Resource Teacher, Reading Specialist, and teacher of English as a Second Language to adults, college students and young children. Curriculum writing was also a pleasure for her and she helped the District develop curriculum to help Spanish-speaking children become literate in their native language. She currently resides in Florida.
