Product Description
In this companion volume to the new Editio Teubneriana of Carmina Profana by Dracontius (ca. 480 CE), the first part (Prolegomena) sheds lights on the tradition and organization of the written manuscripts. The second part accounts for the constitution of the text, justifies necessary amendments, and explains controversial aspects. In the appendix Dracontius` chronological priority over the ""Aegritudo Perdicae"" is demonstrated.
