This book is a continuation of the work Paganism of the Old Slavs by the Russian archeologist and historian Boris Rybakov (1908-2001). The book deals with role of pagan religion in Kievan Rus before its accepting Christianity and during the period of double faith (dvoeverie). It covers the period from the first mention of the Slavs by antique authors to the Tatar invasion in 1237-1241. This book, first published in 1980, has become a classic. 146 illustrations.
