This book on the history of the Russian poetry of the soviet period includes critico-biographical articles about more than forty of the best poets of that era. The articles are arranged topically: soviet neo-romanticism, soviet neoclassicism, poetry for children, "neopeasant" poetry, "labor camp" poetry, "poet performers" etc. The book features separately A. Akhamatova, I. Brodsky, O. Mandel’shtam, B. Pasternak, and M. Tsvetaeva.
