Landlessness And Migration In Nepal

Using a political economy approach, Dr Shrestha analyzes the relationship between migration and underdevelopment in Nepal from an historical and institutional perspective. Recent and alarming trends of a growing landlessness (and political restlessness) among the Napali peasants, the increasing scarcity of arable land, environmental degradation, and population growth, are examined within the context of planned development for Nepal and other Asian countries.
