Le Testament de Saint Éphrem

An autobiographical work attributed to St Ephrem, the most noted theologian of the Syrian Church in the Patristic period. It is the main source for the image of the saint as a hermit in a cave. It discusses eighteen of the twenty-eight strophes in detail following the translation of the Testament.
