N.I. Bukharin (1888-1938) was one of the leading theoreticians of the Bol'shevik party and, in particular, its new economic policy (NEP) in the 1920's. Bukharin was arrested in 1937 and was publically tried as part of the ”Second Moscow Trial". He insisted on his innocence and worked on his several books in prison "Vremena", "Degradation of culture under fascism", "Philosophical arabesques".
