Art, Death and Social Order: The Mortuary Arts of Pre-Conquest Central Panama

This study is based on material from sites in the Tonosi valley and at Sitio Conte in the Cocle Province. Individuals are ranked in social order according to the objects in their graves, and contrasted, in analysis with the ranking structure of the US army.
