Product Description As the title indicates, this study compares the `skeletal element size and the live length and weight' of six types of fish (Pacific cod, Walleye pollock, Atka mackerel, Greenling, Rockfish and Irish Lords) in order to reconstruct the original size of specimens. The remains were recovered from five archaeological sites from three islands in the Aleutian archipelago of Alaska. The aims of the study, and thesis, were to determine diet during prehistory and to identify changes in the environment and climate. Much of the study examines the methodological problems and implications of the study. About the Author Trevor J. Orchard
