Minster Churches in the Dorset Landscape

A detailed examination of high-status churches and their environment in the Dorset or Wessex landscape in order to trace continuity from Roman and early Christian sites. Hall classifies the churches into three categories: primary minsters, monastically or episcopally owned churches and Alfredian foundations and analyses their characteristics, layouts, enclosures and topography and includes a gazetteer of buildings.
