This substantial two-volume thesis charts the development of the area now known as Paris through the Iron Age. It is based on an analysis of objects from the late Hallstatt to late La tène periods as well a study of the artefacts' archaeological provenance, principally cemeteries and burials. Sections examine and illustrated the typology of artefacts, including ceramics, brooches, weapons and jewellery, and establish a chronology of sites. Marion also considers what the burials reveal about funerary customs throughout the Iron Age as well as evidence for changes in settlement areas and types. Pottery illustrations fill the second volume.
