This is a documentary story about the everyday life and works of writers evacuated to the towns of Chistopol' and Elabuga during the Great Patriotic War. Among them were very well known names like K. Fedin, L. Leonov, M. Tsvetaeva, B. Pasternak, M. Petrovykh, and less known writers. The book is based on the diaries of N. Gromova and memoirs of survivors. Profusely illustrated.
