Arne Jacobsen

With a world-wide reputation for his furniture and other designs, Jacobsen is, together with Erik Gunnar Asplund and Alvar Aalto, one of the great figures of Scandinavian architecture. The abstraction which the new materials of his day made possible was to become increasingly evident in his work: spare yet elegant exteriors counterpoint the mannerist logic of his interiors with an insistence which emerges in the very first sketches, for Jacobsen a working process which drew the real, almost literally, from the imaginary. This book is a rediscovery of his work. It contains more than 200 pages full of illustrations in seven typological chapters that order all his architectural and design projects.
