Studying traditional food is one of the important fields in modern ethnography. Not just the food itself, but also the way of cooking, recipes, holiday menus, and table etiquette are part of the ethnic and social identity of a people. This collected work is based on materials of the third congress of ethnographers and anthropologists in Moscow in 1999. With small exceptions all the materials deal with the traditional food of Russians and other peoples in the territory of the FSU. Contents and abstracts in English.
