This publication includes West European and Russian sources of the end of 12th-13th centuries about the attempts of the Catholic Church to take over some East European countries. The crusaders made several attacks on Russian lands, and extended their influence into the Eastern Baltics and Galicio-Volynian Rus. This volume includes twenty-five historic documents on Russian-Livonian relations in the thirteenth century. Some of the documents are published in their original language with a translation into Russian. The series was founded by V.T. Pashuto in 1977. Comments, name index. Bibliography (pp. 386-413).
