The volume 20 of the Complete Works comprises the 4 th part of On Religion, dedicated to a comparison of sacerdotal and non-sacerdotal polytheism. In addition to the original text from 1830, the edition features a complete critical apparatus, information on the text genesis, as well as unpublished sources and work documents that give an idea of the challenges Constant encountered while writing this book, between 1827 and 1830.
