Guía para la interpretación de textos literarios y cine provides university students with a clear and comprehensive introduction to the critical analysis of literary texts and films. The textbook explains and illustrates key critical and theoretical concepts in each unit, includes numerous examples, and takes both students and instructors from the comprehension to the interpretation of literature and film. The book also introduces and explains those literary devices and techniques students need to know in order to perform close readings of literary works and films. Each part begins with a general introduction to its subject, followed by a model analysis of a specifie literary type or film for students to follow. Part I introduces the study of Fiction and covers the elements of narrative and a selection of different types and modes of Fiction. Part Il addresses the Essay, Part Ill looks at Film and the adaptation of literature to film. Poetry follows in Part IV, and we conclude our study with Drama in Part V. Each part moves from descriptions of essential Textual Elements Critical Tools, Methods, and Theories to the guided study, analysis and discussion of a primary literary text or film.
