Algebraic Structures and Their Representations

The proceedings of the July 2003 conference consists of seven survey papers and 21 research articles on algebraic combinatorics, associative rings, cohomology of rings and algebras, commutative algebra, group representations, Hopf algebras, number theory, and quantum groups. The survey papers present recent results on ring constructions for error-correcting codes, approximations by modules of G-dimension zero, fat points on a smooth quadric, and Nichols algebras. Other topics include Frattini-type and fitting-type subgroups, minimal elements in the poset of tilting modules, skew Armendariz rings, and a Galois correspondence theorem for Hopf algebra actions.
