Mazya has had a very distinguished career in mathematics, with specialties including boundary convergence and exceptional sets, random Schrödinger operations, calculation integrals and critical Sobolev space problems of optimal classes, proving that a tough childhood can teach discipline and also an appreciation for diversity. Here his friends and colleagues also celebrate his achievements in Hormande- type operators, generalized Robin boundary conditions, Robin-to-Dirichelet maps and Krein-type formulas for Schrödinger operators on bounded Lipshitz domains, a local Tb theorem for square functions, partial differential equations, and commentary on Lagrange and Fourier. Other topics include Hardy's uncertainty principle, boundaries in Harnack inequalities for operators of p-Laplace types in Reifenberg flat domains, the Christoffel- Darboux kernel, wavelets and function spaces, and problems related to functions and polyhedrals. Includes a biographical sketch and bibliography. Annotation ©2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
