Structured Matrices in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering II

Recent research in fast algorithms, numerical issues, iterative methods, and linear algebra and various applications is presented in these papers from a June 1999 conference. Subjects discussed include fast inversion algorithms for a class of block structured matrices, rank-revealing decompositions of symmetric Toeplitz matrices, preconditioners for ill-conditioned Toeplitz systems, completions of triangular matrices, the rhombus matrix, problems involving invariant norms and Hadamard products, and a generalization of the Perron-Frobenius theorem for nonlinear perturbations of Stiltjes matrices.
