A geometric theory for incompressible flow is presented here, along with material on its applications to fluid dynamics. The main objectives are to study the stability and transitions of the structure of incompressible flows, and to describe applications to fluid dynamics and geophysical fluid dynamics. Early chapters develop a global geometric theory of divergence-free fields on general two-dimensional compact manifolds. Later chapters study the structure of velocity fields for two-dimensional incompressible fluid flows governed by the Navier-Stokes and Euler equations. Author information is not given.
